I'm looking for a simple slip-on dress shoe that can look good with both slacks and with jeans. What I want is basically a shoe that can make slacks look more casual and jeans look more dressy. But I have a very specific style in mind. I tend to prefer minimalist/modern styles. What I found so far are these two below, as good examples. I was wondering if you guys think this style will work in the way I want to wear them.

Bruno Magli "Raging"

Mezlan "Robles"

The Bruno Magli seems more casual because of the stitching, and I think it might look odd with dress slacks. So I'm leaning toward the plain toe look of the Mezlan but would be open to suggestions of similar shoes. I'm also wondering about the quality of Mezlan (made in Spain).

110 views and no opinions? Maybe someone will help if I tell you these are to replace a pair of Kenneth Cole brick shoes?

I also found these at Zappos. They're Johnston & Murphy Venetian style loafers. These might be inappropriate with jeans though... http://www.zappos.com/images/739/739...0-584696-p.jpg

The Venetian style loafers are definitely a plus over either of the two you mentioned before, and over Kenneth Cole brick shoes

. As to whether or not they're appropriate with jeans, just don't wear them with any jeans that are ripped and heavily washed. A nice, subdued dark wash in jeans would definitely work with that pair.
