Thick as Thieves does tuxes MTM for less than $500. Fully-canvassed as well.

I don't know for sure but 1) it looks like satin in the photos 2) it would be surprising if it were grosgrain as I think most RTW DJs use satin for facings.
What are everyone's thoughts on satin facings with peak lapels? My understanding is that satin traditionally goes with shawl lapels and grograin with peak.

Really doesn't matter very much at all IMHO. I have a slight preference for grosgrain, and I guess I could see grosgrain not going terribly well with a shawl collar, but there's certainly nothing wrong with satin on a peak lapel.

Try looking at Mr. Porter's site I think they have a collection of slim fitting tuxedos.

There are plenty of suggestions in your price range, just go to Saks or Neiman. I bought a Z Zegna for $350 on sale at Saks last year. One button, no vent, peal satin lapels, good fit.
