Slim Fit Raincoat to Wear Over a Suit

I am in NYC and it is raining. It makes me realize that I have nothing to wear during the spring, summer, and fall when it is raining out.

What I need is something I can wear over a suit or sportcoat without overheating. The catch is that it has to be slim fitting. I take a 36R in Phineas Cole stuff and a 38R in RLBL. Does anyone have any ideas?

I would like to keep it under $600 if at all possible.

Thanks a lot.

I like the stutterheim rain coat. Swedish made and gorgeous. Maybe not perfect with a suit but it looks good.

They look great and the quality is high, but too casual for what I am looking for.

I love how even Brooks's own mouseover definition of trench coat in the description points out that said item is not actually a trench coat. Oh, and viator's question was about length, which has no relation to whether it fits over a shirt or a jacket. And it does look to be rather short for a traditional raincoat. My trench (mil surplus) comes a smidgen below my knees, my mac (which is a much better category for the coat linked) is a tad shorter.

The one from Brooks Brothers looks nice. I have a light-weight raincoat from Sanyo (sorry, no pic at hand). Their website still shows the heavy winter coats, but you can get some idea about the cuts. Unfortunately, I am in rainy NYC as well, stranded in my office without my coat and umbrella.

My condolences, it was coming down out there.

I have a very simple black one that I bought from Banana Rep. several years ago. I got it tailored to be slim -- sides taken in, sleeves narrowed, hem shortened slightly, and now it looks like a million bucks. The total cost including tailoring was probably around $150. Don't underestimate what a good tailor can do to even the most mundane of garments!

I just picked up the new one at club Monaco for about $200; it's slim, slim enough that for me it just fits over a slim jacket, and I'm able to wear it without a jacket without it looking big (size xs, and I'm about a 36). So maybe check it out in a size small.
