Has anyone had success in slightly lightening their shoes using only polish?
I bought a pair of AE's in bown, and while I like the color, I wish it was a bit closer to a walnut color.
I don't want to do anything along the lines of stripping the shoe; rather, I was wondering if, over time, would I get a slight walnut "patina" after many polishings. I understand it won't just beome a walnut-colored shoe - nor do I want that.
Comments? Has this been tried and met with disaster? It shounds like it has worked for members in the past if they wanted to go darker, or make a brown shoe redder, but I didn't see much on imparting a lighter patina.
Thanks.
