No Coke Zero ad before the movie at my theater. They did have I believe it was a phone ad with Bond before the movie started though.

Quite observant! I didn't even realize 1/2 of these.

There were several Bond ads (including the Vario ad.. which wasn't too great).

Here's the Coke Zero ad (not even 720p.. seriously, Coke Zero?):

the aerial shot of the DB5 going down the straight country road was the best shot of the movie.....along with the shot of it parked on the side of the road and bond standing by it...

One to add to the product placement list: Scrabble. Q's mug.

Hated the suits -- never mind the tightness, they were also extremely Italian in styling (shoulders, breast pocket, etc.). And one of the first shots shows Bond with a cuff button undone. Please.

Loved the Aston Martin, especially the irony of making it a bit clunky and uncomfortable. Wish there's been more irony elsewhere. I thought the franchise had got over not knowing what to do with women beyond the bed and the secretary's desk.

I wonder why they chose this suit styling for him this time around.

Casino Royale nailed the wardrobe, imo.

I'm surprised to hear the Heineken placement was not more pronounced considering production of the film itself was in some dire financial difficulties.

Everyone at my club was talking about it. Although there was someone who was 24 being the most verbose and I remember in the trailer the villain mocks the whole Bond concept ("England. The Empire. MI6. So old-fashioned..."). At some point for Bond #31 or #33 it's going to fly over people's heads right?

And yes, I'm glad that Heineken didn't play a big role. Nowhere nearly as much as in Transporter.

Completely disappointed.....looks like they are going to go cartoon Bond again.....movie was far too drawn out. I really wish they could make another like Casino Royale.

I'd agree with all of this, though I did like the idea of the previous two movies having organizations to fight and not just one person with a few people helping out during their crime spree.

the whole M thing really surprised me, though Voldemort should make for a good part going forward.

Anyone else (partially) thought of 24 while watching the movie?

the movie did feature some prominent drinking, but only once was it Heineken. And it was while Bond was relaxing in bed, I hardly see a problem with no-martini here.

I'd maybe agree on the suits.

And above all, he didn't order a Heineken in Macau (like I already wrote but felt the need to point out again).

To be honest, I also found the beginning a little odd. Not sure whether it's written in the books, but even though it's human, Bond doesn't seem like someone who would just try to break up with his past. Or am I off-base in that aspect?

Good, not great. Certainly better than QoS.
