1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

When will this new policy begin? Has it begun already for MTOs?

Final details are being worked on, it will take a couple of months for us to roll everything out. But most likely we will put up a new U.S. store front and charge in USD, it might even be shipped from a storage facility in the US (to be decided). But the price shown in this US website will be the final price for US clients. I hope I'm making myself clear in this regard.

I was already on the fence with buying more EG just because I think eliminating GMTOs is so lame. Don't think I'll be supporting that brand anymore.

A 50% price increase is ridiculous.

Ay caramba. If you had to have a place in the US to ship from you would have to buy double the inventory to sell to the U.S. customer as well as the EU customer. Seems unnecessary for sure.

So does that mean we should take advantage of the prices online now before it takes in effect? And does that affect the stock pull of the shanklins if we were to put it into affect now?

Being someone who resides outside of the U.S., are other regions going to be affected? There are retailers in Asia who also price their EGs significantly higher than Skoaktiebolaget.

I feel for Skoak, EG is really going to hurt their U.S. business with this. Sorry guys...

As I've said before, and what I will confirm now, is that any placed order will of course be honoured in regards of price.

Don't get me wrong I don't like this anymore than any one else.

No one wants to pay more.

I'm sure EG knows they wont be selling quite as many.

But I don't think they are necessarily as concerned about that as they are other things.

I'm certain in this case the more they sell isn't always what your trying to do and it's not always a good thing for you. There are a number of buisnesses that limit their production for various reasons.

Their quality and their profit margin in this case maybe more important to them in the long run.

Actually this maybe one of the reasons or a good side effect for them. They maybe happy they wont, as after all they probably have a limited production based on their current labor force anyway.

Overall I think they believe they need retailers and they want to assure them that they understand this as well.

What they may do at this point in a lot of ways is no different than what a number of other business do.

Unfortunately this affects us and it appears that if we want to buy more it will cost us more.

Time to get fitted for St.C's. I can get a customized last MTO for less than a stock EG. That seems like a no brainer to me

Don't be surprised if the other shoemakers don't follow suit at some point in the future.

EG is a leader, and followers tend to follow.

Besides St Crispin faces some of these same challenges and their production capabilities are much less than EG.

    Just saying.

US retailers are screaming at StC too. I have promised Phillip to follow his new policies, which will also roll out later this year.

Carmina will follow by the end of this year. No word yet from G&G or Bonafè.

I understand you guys are anxious to learn more but a lot of things are actually still up in the air which is not good for anyone, especially us. I always want to be honest and transparent with you guys, so when I have more solid info I'll let you know.
