I'd be in for Patrik's suede u wing bal suggestion.

Though I'd prefer less brogueing with the suede.

Anyone have anything close to this so I can see what it would look like?

polo suede and edge trim would resemble this pair of G&G belonging to Mr. Leaves:

    Fox Suede is stunning.

    @JubeiSpiegel

Can you work your magic and mock up a U wing boot in that color suede?

    Please? :)

oh god lets not get distracted by comparing one shoe makers suede color to anothers. Batches of same suede from the same shoemaker varies even. i simply posted the G&G light brown suede and natural suede to a "feel" for the uwing boot would look.

The original borgued U- wing is cool boot, but a fairly busy one. Not knocking it - I have it coming in burgundy.

I have never felt that brogueing looks as good on suede as on smooth calf or shell - the punching just looks less crisp due to the nature of the material. And suede is adding texture of its own, with contrasting stitching adding another visual element to the equation.

I think suede plus contrasting stitching plus the already bold design of the U wing is plenty for this boot - I'd be inclined to forego the brogeuing all together. And for those who already have one or both versions of the U-wing, an austerity version would make it a less repetitive addition.

As for colour - dark brown is out for me, as is a very light tan.

By broguing you mean the hole punch? So austerity uwing boot?

Yes, and yes. I think the contrasting stitching will be a nice touch, and together with the suede, give the boot a lot more pop than a standard calf austerity boot would have.

I suppose we decide on suede color first - I'm open to anything in a medium brown or reddish brown - so snuff, tobacco, nutmeg and the like. I just don't want a dark brown or a tan. I'm open to the wide range in between.

For contrasting stitching, I'm not sure that is something we select in terms of color or just leave to Carmina

I guess this is going in a direction different than what I originally proposed. My preference was for something in burgundy or reddish brown calf. I'm sure the suede will look good regardless, but trying to fill up other holes on my rotation first. So I'll probably seat this one for now.

Of course if there are 5 other folks interested in a burgundy/reddish brown calf u wing boot then we can get 2 separate GMTOs going.

I would be interested in a burgundy or reddish brown u wing. As I understand it, is there less upcharge with a GMTO?

That makes us 2. We need 4 more to get some traction on this.

@Leavesdoes Carmina have any brown calf with reddish tones? Maybe something similar to EBs Etrusco calf?

    Thanks.

Could aways do burgundy then put mahogany polish on it. Or navy polish on burgundy.

Polo suede and tobacco suede would be my picks.

    How about this:

...but finished in the custom Siena patina by Dandy Shoe Care. Now that will be a great make up! Price will be about 3900 SEK ex VAT including patina service.

It will have to be a limited run though, something like 10 pairs because Alexander does not usually do large runs in the same color.
