1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Does GG use crust calf for their patina service?

I believe so but that's no more than a guess as I've never gone that route. I have a pic somewhere of a special darker version of vintage cherry that they have done and it is awesome.

Cool beans. What colours would work for you? I would hope if we could get maybe four guys in early we could make a strong push to complete the GMTO.

With Nick Horween's advice, I decided to wear them under this crappy weather. The shell holds up just fine. Just a nice wipe with cloth and the water marks went away on their own after a while.

    RogerP,

F width would be fine for me. But I'm pretty basic with the colors so I'd prefer VOAK if possible?

What last y'all thinking? Any interest in doing that Beluga patina instead of Voak?

No idea on cost of the Beluga version but I'd sure be interested. Maybe we can get some info from Skoak on Monday as I'm sure they are closed now.

Is patina service now available through retailers? I thought you could only get through G&G Savile Row store.

Like I said, I've never purchased a patinaed pair and know nothing about it.

I was for vintage pine, but when majority will follow VOAK, I will probably handle it somehow ....

Something tells me if we'll pay for it they'd be willing to do it. Can't imagine why they'd turn it down if we're willing to pay, especially on a group buy.

    FWIW,

I'd be down for either VOAK or vintage cedar.

I think they want to protect exclusivity of their own store too.

Voak is more of a medium brown IMO, though obviously darker than either cedar or pine.

I'm open to a few shades, but the likely path to a fully subscribed GMTO seems to be Voak at present.

I would like to dive into GG with a Thorpe. I said I wouldn't get any more boots for a while but I may make an exception for the first of a new maker. However, I still have no experience with GG.
