1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Made my order on the longwings. Went with my normal size based on Gabriel's advice. Fingers crossed

I went with UK8, I'm usually 8,5 in sleeker lasts. Gabriel told me it was a rather spacious last so 8 should be fine.

What upsets me is the waiting time... March 2017??? Damn...

I have a question to ask all clever gentleman here. Being relatively new to this hobby, about 2.5 years and 9 pairs of shoes later, I've realized some categorize their collection as some shoes for spring/summer and fall/winter. I have six Carminas (brown and tan loafers, brown double monk, brown toecap, brown austerity brogue, tarnsjo longwing), two Enzo Bonafe's (etrusco wholecut and bolet adelaide) and a single pair of budapester Vass. Do you determine the shoes for Fall/Winter mainly on color and/or sole? Would nobody here wear burgundy or dark brown in the spring/summer? Is it done to help with longevity of the shoes as to not be worn the whole year? Any remark appreciated.

Living in New York, I use "tougher" looking leather like pebble grain and Tarnsjo in Fall/Winter and wear boots. I usually wear my lighter colored stuff and loafers during Spring/Summer. That's my only distinction really.

I base it more on what I'm wearing. For example, I don't like the look of shoes being much lighter than my pants and I tend to wear lighter pants in the summer, so I'm much more likely to wear tan shoes in the summer.

That may be due to Bonafe taking several weeks off in December for the holiday iirc.

Meh, 5 months isn't be so bad. I've waited longer than that for Alden stock model orders.

As a matter of fact, there's an Alden cordovan preorder that I've been waiting for for almost 2 years now

A March 2017 delivery gives me something to look forward to during the bleakest month of the year here in the tundra.

Oh my god, this. I'd wait 10 months for a pre-order if there was a dead-set guarantee that is when it would arrive.

    It's a thinly veiled excuse...to buy more shoes/boots :)

In the winter I use some waterproof timberland shoes with a commando sole, and switch to my 'summer' dress shoes once inside.

Nothing quite like a pair of tan boots to go with the fall colours though!

We are proud to present our third collaboration between Manolo.se and Skoaktiebolaget.

This year's design is a Balmoral boot in suede from Carlos Santos. The last is called 316 and with its elegant lines, it´s an excellent choice for this versatile boot. Style 9115. Rubber sole. Made in Portugal. All Carlos Santos shoes for Skoaktiebolaget are Goodyear welted. Limited Edition.

    Get it while it's hot!
