Tifosi is correct, we are talking about two different makeups. The GMTO watchidiot is organizing is a 5 eyelet chukka (model 905) with polo suede on the rain last.

You are giving up on Snowdon?

Probably, given the lack of interest. It's really a separate decision -- I would get both the Galway and the Snowdon if I could. This was a great opportunity for the Galway. I will most likely give up on the Snowdon and get a pair of Cheaney Pennines to beat up on the ugliest of the ugly days. Unless I should get another pair of Galways…

All right, I think I have narrowed my last G&G MTO before the price increase to two options: (1) chestnut hatch grain Isham or (2) chestnut hatch grain Eton. I think I am leaning towards the Eton as I already have a non-grain split toe coming from Carmina. But, there is just something beautiful about the Isham...

Oscar fits quite similar in width as the Robert last but has a more generous tow box. However, the two lasts has a similar instep and ball width. A good general recommendation would be to keep the same size for both of these lasts.

I understand. When you think about it, our proposed makeup is not that much different from regular Snowdon.

I'm interested! I think I'd prefer hatchgrain and Tomir (or Dainite), but am open to other options.

With the recent interest of @Fred G. Unn and the potential interest of @Jazzmenco we shoul be ready to go.

    Interested people are:
    -Me

    [email protected]
    [email protected]
    [email protected] G. Unn
    [email protected] (if persuaded)

If everybody agrees, we can star to ask @Leaves which lasts (between Rain, Soller, Detroit or any other of they generous fitting lasts) Carmina is willing to use for model 80189 and if they can source hatchgrain in brown or dark burgundy

Carmina doesn't have hatchgrain in any color normally, would be interesting if they would source a whole new leather for a group of only 6.

They've done hatch grain before though. Epaulet did a boot not too long ago:

I would be interested in another run of that boot in some hatch grain color.

Hey @Leaves can you update us, does Carmina dabble in hatch grain anymore?

Oh, I know they do, but I'm pretty sure that was for full store run, not just 6 orders. But if you can get them to do it, it would be great. Would love it to be an option on future GMTOs

Not to put words in Patrik's mouth but I know there were some concerns about the finish of the hatch grain and also Patrik I believe has said he wasn't too impressed himself with the hatch grain.
