It would be derby/open laced...just like the shortwing boot in the pic...with speedhooks
^ Blind eyelets or exposed like the Unipair model?
Has there been discussion of which medallion? I prefer these to the one on the Unipair model.
How many medallions does Carmina offer? I think I've seen 4 or 5 at most. Wonder if they have any that are more long & thin, like these Alden designs.
Too m any to keep track of. But they do prefer to go with the medallion that fit/has been developed for each last. I think there's just one they use for Rain.
The Bonafé chukka that arrived the other week in Tobacco Suede.
Started breaking in my black chukka boots Enzo Bonafé MTO.
I'm digging those laces with the black boots.
Beautiful Bonafe chukkas.
Those are great! How does this chukka fit compare to the one from Carmina (on Simpson?) you sold earlier this year?
Nice choice of MTO shoes, Joshua! An interesting extra touch with the purple laces.
The chukka from Enzo Bonafé is on a last called 946. The Simpson last from Carmina is a chiseled last but a snug fitting last with a lower instep compared to the 946 last from EB. The 946 last is also nicely chiseled but has a higher instep and is a little wider compared to Simpson over the ball width of the foot and in the toe box of the shoe.
Is Tobacco suede the same as Snuff suede? The two colors look very similar in the photos.
No, it's different colors. Tobacco is a little more reddish and darker than snuff. The Enzo Bonafé color is actually called Hidro, not Tobacco, but who's ever heard of Hidro Suede?
Patrik would like to get the final list of participants for the rain last shortwing boot by 10/25. Let's get the details finalized this week so he can provide pricing. Here are the details that have been floating around:
