Bought a pair of the new Carmina semi-brogues and thought I'd give them a try yesterday. After two 20 min walks (to work and then home) I had a really nasty chafing on the top of my right foot where the shoe flexes. Do I just have to harden TFU and keep using them or is there anything I can do to ease the process (except for getting a pack of bandaids)?

Go to the drug store and get moleskin.
It will be your friend during any break in periods with new shoes.

    Shipping updates.
Hi guys, we just did some changes in our shipping rates and options because there was room for improvements.

    • Priority courier changed from TNT to FedEx.
    • Priority shipping is now less expensive.
    • EU shipping is now cheaper and we will use FedEx instead of Posten (government regular mail).
    • We have changed courier from regular mail to FedEx Economy in Hong Kong because we had some issues with a few parcels gone missing (found their way eventually but unnecessary extra waiting for some clients) and long delivery times (not always, but sometimes).
    • Regular mail still available worldwide and in the US. Please let me know if you guys also want the option to use FedEx Economy (faster than regular mail, but...).

Please PM me if you have any feedback or suggestions. Thanks!

How faster it can get? You would not normally hear me say this about government services but our USPS and your Swedish Posten have been doing marvelous job delivering those packages.

    Thank you sir.

Depends on where in the US you live. If you are in NY, it's very quick with regular mail/USPS because this is where the parcel is first sorted when it gets to the US. But if you are on the West Coast it's slower. FedEx Economy claims 5 business days nationwide in the US. But we have not added FedEx Economy for US clients yet to the site, will do it though if there's enough interest.

This particular boot was made on the Oscar last, which unfortunately isn't available in any other widths than standard. Rain, Detroit & Forest are the only Carmina lasts currently available in different widths.

I can see this being an improvement that some have been waiting for. Good move. However I have kind of liked the previous system just because I could count on not paying any custom fees. I wonder if this change will effect that in any way. Anybody have any idea?

^^^ Quote says postal shipping still available world wide and that is definitely the way I would go. For those who can't wait a week on their shoes, they can now get them faster.

I love those grain tanker boots! Is there any possibility Carmina can do a taller version of those tanker boots?

Hey, so I'm a solid US 10D and I comfortably wear a Carmina UK9 in the Forest last, 43 in Vass F last and I just fit into a UK 9E in the C&J 348 last. (My left foot is OK but my slightly larger right foot is at about max capacity by the pinky toe.) I'm including the C&J's as I'm assuming it's the closest shoe I have last wise in relation to the Simpson. So, the question begs, will a 9 UK Simpson work for me or would I need to size up to a 9.5?
