Really? I thought Meermin was supposed to be the poor man's Carmina?

    I do like their makeups...

They are but they are selling like crazy! Carmina spends no money on marketing and 95% of the people don't know the difference. Meermin is doing a huge online business as well.

I ordered a pair of MTO chukkas through Skoak with a commando sole, and got a victory sole instead, and I ordered right around the time Skoak changed their grain jumper's commando sole to a victory sole.

Apparently the commando sole rubber can wear out on the toe, which caused people to complain. I have a feeling that any commando sole order coming through Skoak will be swapped for a victory sole...

I just went with it because I had no intent of paying $100 shipping to Sweden for a remake, they were very stiff and uncomfortable initially, but they've broken in well. Still way comfier than my dainite soles :)

I wouldn't write off Carmina just yet :) they still make a fabulous product. It's natural for a company to go through a period where improvements need to be made and details fine tuned especially when the company is expanding. I can guarantee that Carmina is doing more sales now then ever before. They have expanded their reach across the globe to North America and are growing in popularity in Europe. Also, they operate a global online store, and they offer a MTO program which is quite flexible. That's probably the reason why some of these minor errors in MTOs seem to be happening lately, and problems with some of the leathers.

Obviously I'm just speculating here, but as a business owner myself I imagine this is the case. Meermin makes a fine product but they still aren't playing in the same league as Carmina yet.

My order from Skoak came in today, but I'm on a night shift [IMG]

Gonna have to wait one more day to see my first pair of Carminas!

Does anyone have a tobacco suede belt for a size 30-31 waist that they would either sell or know when I can get one? I got a pair of the tobacco suede adels that just came in but forgot a matching belt :(. I don't think a leather belt, even if it's the same color, would look good with suede shoes when paired with more formal/work attire

I use a woven belt with mine sometimes, and I like the look.

I was going to try to sport them with a more "formal" look and wear them to the office (which is typically slacks and a button down). I can pull of the suede shoe/leather belt combo in a casual/jean setting but was worried about it when I had trousers and a button down on

I may be in the minority but I think a belt matching the exact colour of any particular shoe looks kind of weird, especially a matching suede. I wouldn't mind a darker shade of brown suede as much, but colours such as the tobacco, or blue, or loden (green) suede belts would look a bit goofy with the matching shoes.

But, like I said, I'm probably in the minority :)

Well, I disagree that it looks "weird" or "goofy" - I think it looks fine. But I also agree that you don't need an exact match. People really only notice this stuff when you screw it up with obviously incompatible belt and shoes. Though I still see black belt with brown shoes so often it makes me lose faith in humanity.

I'm honestly not super worried about the color not matching exactly, rather I'm wondering if the suede/leather combo would look weird. If you don't think so, then I have a leather belt that would be perfect. If you think I should have at least a suede belt then I need to grab one

I don't think a leather belt would look weird at all as long as the colour was relatively close in shade.

We have two-three styles in stock, please use the search form on the top left corner and you can search tobacco. We will not stock more tobacco from Carmina until they have secured a tobacco hue I like. The one they use now is too close to snuff in my opinion.

We have a Bonafè pre-order wholecut run being announced soon.
