    Hi,

The Modern Classic lacks burnishing, but the Vegano Marron has a nice depth to it that might seem to be an antiqued nuance.

As for size, may I ask what brands and lasts you have a previous experience of? In Carminas case, UK9.5 is roughly equivalent to US10.5. However, the Simpson last is snug fitting so it is not uncommon to size up half a size.

Yeah, I'm kinda bummed as well. Really loved the old suede and looked forward to it immensely. I stopped by yesterday to take a look, but they were busy with a customer and I was in a hurry. Going to try again today to see how it looks in person.

Apparently the old supplier went bankrupt.

The tannery that supplied the first tobacco suede went bankrupt so Carmina had to switch tannery
mid-process. Unfortunately we were never told about this and could not inform our clients of the change of tannery/leather.

Understand completely - though very unfortunate. The first group were very lucky to get the tobacco suede :)

I'm assuming that we will get an option for refund? I just hope Camina will take responsibility...as it is not fair to you guys...

You have the option to get a full refund of the MTO deposit if you'd like.

    Ok, thanks for info.

    C&J 358 in UK 9 1/2E Brunswick: fits perfect
C&J 348 in US 10.5D Ludlow: perfect left foot, the right foot is about 1/4 too small (@#$%!).
C&J 325 for RL in US 10.5D Lindrick, Marlow Penny and Shortwing: a touch big, but fine (couldn't size down)
Alden Plaza Last in 10.5 B/D Wingtip Boot: great.

You'll see in a lot of cases where people size down 1/2 (like the CJ325) I stay at TTS and, while it might be a touch big, it's fine for me.

    fyi: I appreciate the input!

(even after all these years on SF, I didn't have this info at the ready - thanks for making me take the time to put it together!)

No problem! The 358 last in E-width is somewhat similar to the Simpson last in terms of shape but the Simpson last is most likely slightly more snug, especially around the instep. If that's no problem, then I'd say UK9.5. If you have wide feet and/or a high instep, I'd say UK10.

I am still taking delivery of my size. Apparently the colour is the same as the tobacco suede penny loafer on the site.

I really did like the original colour, but the new shade of tobacco probably lends itself better to more combinations, whereas the reddish tones of the original make it less versatile. Here's a picture of a chukka in the old batch of tobacco, and in natural light you can really see the redness. Not saying it's not a great looking shade, but I'm also not as disappointed as I thought I would be. See for yourselves:
