skinny tie for wedding?

I'm going to wear a navy suit for my wedding and I'm thinking of wearing a skinny tie to go with it. I am slender and my lapels are as well. Is wearing a skinny tie for my wedding a bad idea?

I don't know anything about wedding-specific style, but in general I believe one roughly matches the width of the tie to that of the lapel.

3.5" wide is about average width these days and moderate, I wouldn't go any slimmer than 3" wide. That's a width where you can be contemporary and not kick yourself in 10-20 years for dressing at the whims of fashion.
