Ski Glove Recommendations?

I guess I'll throw this one into the general chat... Does anyone have any recommendations for a well-insulated ski glove that will actually keep me warm. Either I have a low 'cold finger tolerance', or the gloves I have bought just don't get the job done. Anyone?

I suffer from cold hands and feet all the time. I ended up ditching the gloves and going with a nice mitten about 10 years ago. Haven't had a problem since.

I have some Marmot ones that I love. Once you figure out what you want, you should check STP and www.campmor.com to see if they have any good deals.

Try the Canada Goose down insulated ones. They are quite bulky, and run around $75+ though.

Mittens over gloves. No question. Also, gloves liners in very cold temps help tremendously, especially in those odd situations when you have to take off your gloves/mittens, as you expose very little skin. My glove liners have a pocket on the back of the hand for a hand warmer, so I just put one in there on the ride to the mountain, and take it out on the ride back.

I just got back from skiing up at Banff, and the temperatures were in the single digits the whole time. My hands were never cold.

If you're in very cold conditions and dexterity isn't a huge concern mittens are your best option. If you need gloves I've always found Auclair, Spyder, and North Face to be very good. Look for a gortex shell, real leather palm, snot panel, extra long gaunlet and a double glove design (outer shell glove with insulation, separate fleece inner glove). With the double glove it means if you need to adjust something you can take off the outer and not expose your hands to the elements. You will probably need to invest more than $100 for the good stuff.

Auclair gloves are quite common, and really cheap. But I would also say that for some of their gloves, they are really good at the quality/price ratio.

My XC-ski gloves, and -30C gloves are both Auclair.
