A Skeuomorph is a derivative object that retains nonfunctional ornamental design cues (attributes) from structures that were inherent to the original. Faux woodgrain on plastic lawn chairs. Lights shaped like candles. The human appendix. Shopping cart icons on ecommerce websites.

Skeuomorphs are interesting to me, and menswear is full of them. This thread is to be a list of skeuomorphs in menswear.

Adidas' three stripes (they originally served the purpose of supporting the shoe under the pressure of the tied laces.
