I actually prefer the work that the JLC enamel artists do on special Reversos

I still think VC does better work, but that's not saying that JLC does not do a very good job.

Eh. I dont like skeletonized watches. You pay too much money to be too showy at the expense of legibility.

Anyway most low-end skeleton watches weren't worth skeletonizing in the first place.

I think teh dieal solution is a skeletonised Reverso. Gives you a normal watch on one side and a skeleton on the other...

Give me a minute repeater or a rattrapante instead any day.

In my book, the Portuguese Minute Repeater is perhaps the most beautiful watch in existence.

Full Canvas, thank you so much for posting the link. The guy's collection is just amazing; now I know what to do when work gets slow.

Lovely. Skeletonising the Reverso from the back really makes sense to me - you still have a regular, easily-read dial on the other side, while you can still enjoy the lovely work. I also think this is one of the better-looking examples of skeletonising in this thread. Jon: That's some really lovely enamel work. Painted enamel, as in many of the older examples you posted, is almost completely unobtainable today, I think.

I know that JLC has a team of enamellers (including their master enameller, Miklos Merczel, who is apparently one of the very best in the world) and offers it as a service to personalize your watch exactly as you want it (they will paint your wife's portrait or your favorite painting if you'd like)
Click here and then click on #11 for a short segment

Definitely also check here for a fantastic post about them and here for current enamel watches

That's very cool - thanks for the info - it's more useful to me than you probably would heve guessed.

I actually thought the enamelled JLC stuff was all after-market.
