Size comparison: Levis vs. Nudie

I wear a waist size of 31" on Levi 505 jeans. I'm assuming this because the 32" ones I bought were a little big at the waist after they stretched out. I'm looking to buy a pair of Nudie Slim Jims, or possible Straight Svens. I've learned through experience that it is impossible to judge how a pair of jeans will fit by trying them on unless you have previous experience with the brand - they stretch out a TON within the first week, and then more after that. My 32" levis were uncomfortably tight at the waist when I bought them, but now they're too big.

I'm probably going to order a pair of slim jims or straight svens from the Denim Bar soon. (I live in the area, but am going back to college soon, and they currently don't have what I'm looking for in my size, but will after I leave town) Is it safe to assume that size 31 Levis fit me, size 31 Nudies will too?

Thanks, I'll look for 30s. Can anyone second this? These are slim-fitting jeans as they are, but I don't want them to be skin tight.

they only stretch as much as you make them.
size down 1, and they'll stretch 1 inch, size down 2, they'll stretch 2.

I'm usually a 32" waist in a pair of 550's but sized down to a 30" in RRDG. The fit is nice, not at all tight.
