Why is successful gif posting so sporadic? Sometimes 'copy image'+paste on a gif will work, often it just posts a single frame. And I've yet to see an URL link to a gif that the 'insert media' function could handle.

I have found that copying directly from a site and pasting into my comment is pretty hit-or-miss. If I save the GIF to my hard disk first, then copy/paste into the comment that almost always works. One would think that clipboard is clipboard, but I guess not.

I just drag the gif off the page and insert it into the insert image function. Works every time ime
