1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

This. Its always been a thing, then a porn thing, and now it has come to have a broader meaning. It basically spread from the asshole of the internet. 4Chan, the worst of Reddit, Cenovich, and the like.

This looks like the same forum software RamboForVm uses. Can't say I am a fan.

What's the deal on the switch? Hudler wasn't working out anymore?

Spam in the Site Topics thread does show a certain fortitude.

Why when you watch or subscribe to a topic and then click on it does it take you to the beginnger of the thread

On old site, it took you to newest posts since you were last on thread

Really not helpful for regular users

Also, I know they said classifieds would be better but now all you can see is three words of the description so get no sense of size price etc. new design just is not helpful and makes it harder than old forum to look at classifieds

I've got to say that I don't really get it. I'm sure there has been a lot work put in and things must be better for those who administer the site. But for users, the visual design is almost exactly the same - and that's where I was hoping there might be some improvement - but usability is just a little bit more annoying. Except for B&S, which is now really annoying in both respects. I just want to see lists of stuff so I can scroll down and scan easily, not big pictures of everything, which take so long to load that I can't see them or be bothered to wait for them anyway... is there a list view option?

Big +1. I'll take big pics too but it's almost a deal killer if it's not a single vertical list. I can't stand "reading" pictures left to right, down, left to right, down. It's. Just. Stupid.

It's something that plagues shop and sales websites now. One of the reasons I really like Japanese clothes sales sites (apart from the clothes) is that they are resolutely old school and have straight list views with icons. Ebay still do this too, although you have to select it as an option. If there's no option for a list view, I'm not sure I'll be bothered to use B&S anymore.

How come all the photos in threads are no longer showing up?
Is there a setting to be turned on?

Not only that, but it only "sticks" so long. I think like every 30 or 45 days it gets reset for me and I immediately switch it back to list view. Seriously, it's not a little thing for me, I don't know if I've got a psych problem or what, but I find the listings in multi column format to be practically unbearable.

I can't quite say I'd abandon it, but it'd bug me enough that it would have an impact.

The new Watched Threads page defaults to an order that is not reverse chron, requiring that I click to view all watched threads. Also, the menu bar is blank on iOS.

Also wish that I could choose how many posts/conversations I view per page.

How do you even find your watched, or subscribed, threads?

I've been fiddling around for the better part of a day now and all of threads that I used to typically check - Australian Members, Watches, Movies and various others - have disappeared from my entry page. When I go to my own profile and click on "subscribed" threads, I don't get anything.

Also, all of my PMs for the past 12 years are now showing as unread.

Edited to add: Aha - just noticed that there's a button up near the top of the SF front page that says "watched threads". Clicked on that and saw the usual suspects reappear.

You can also get there by hovering FORUMS in the menu bar, then over the caret to bring up the sub-menu. Watched Threads is one of the options.

Wait... You can't see who liked posts in mobile view and it won't let you switch to desktop view on your phone? How the Hell am I supposed to form opinions on people's political views in the Cesspool on the go?
