1. Welcome to the new Styleforum!

We are currently fine-tuning the forum for your browsing pleasure, so bear with any lingering dust as we work to make Styleforum even more awesome than it was. I'd like to keep you abreast of the improvements we've made over the past few days.
@notification emails have been added, in response to user requests

Attached images are now Full Size by default

Users are now all allowed three (3) links in their signature files,

SSL certification is now in place so you can all browse securely.

The server has been reconfigured so that site speeds will improve.

Notice: Right now the site is slow because we are fixing all the images from the past 4 months. Many of you noticed that these were missing, and we are fixing that problem now. Unfortunately, it is taking up a lot of resources and causing the site to be slow.

Oh, and don’t forget to head over to the Styleforum Journal, because we’re giving away two pairs of Carmina shoes to celebrate our move!

Thumb comments - there wasn't proper AB testing - we went from 1 click to 2 click thumbs, which incidentally added the option to comment. They should have been reintroduced with a new icon along side the old icon which kept a 1 click to thumb experience

IDS isn't even all that bad anymore. They got cocktails that keep it at bay.

I hate to be the one to ruin this for you Harv but it's not that kind of cocktail.

I don't understand the love for them. If you want to comment, just comment. Why is this difficult to grasp?

Because some of us work at places where StyFo images are blocked, and leaving a comment in thread on a 12 hour old post seems disruptive

It's not if you spoiler the picture. Who ever actually goes back and reads the comments after 12 hours anyway? It wouldn't even be seen.

pB is why we can't have nice things.

Though, sadly, I'm on his side here. It is an extra click, and now I have to read all the comments separately.

I would like to associate myself with the words of patrickBOOTH and add: The limit on the number of thumb comments displayed and inability to view thumb comments on the mobile site makes them even less desirable.

Auto-playing video ads. I've had two different ones in the span of one hour today. I wasn't even active on the SF tab and start blasting from a background tab. One was Myrtle Beach hotel and the other Edible Arrangements. They don't have the adchoice logo or functionality either so we cannot give feedback

Yeah, the Edible Arrangement has gone off on me a few times lately.

    Auto-play videos are the worst.

I don't want to block ads (they keep SF alive) but I'd love to block autoplay ads... is that an option with adblock?

With adblock, you can tune it. If I'm not mistaken you can remove ads from certain pages only or only certain ads.

For me, the ones that get me the most are news sites that do auto-play videos for the articles I go to read.
