1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

I propose the gif be posted when requesting stitches assistance

Not unlike the "Spoo signal" gif for Versace ID questions

thats a fine idea, but flagging spam is the quickest way to get it taken care of.

also, replying to spam with threats of death, mother or child rape or death, and any and all other means of violence is not particularly helpful.

    +1 bazillion.

Also, in addition to not replying to spam, people shouldn't quote spam if they do feel compelled to reply to it as it's pointless and actually just helps the spammers.

I've removed Styleforum from my Ad Block white list since video adverts with sound started playing on here.

Non intrusive banner ads are fine. Blinking widgets are borderline annoying but having me go through five different tabs to find that one advert that plays sound, well? that takes the cake.

PSA: Every time a spam thread is flagged, I get an email with a direct link to the thread where I can quickly ban the spammer and delete all his posts/threads in one shot, and check if he has multiple accounts that he using elsewhere on the forum. There were over 70 spam threads that I just deleted, and not a single one was flagged.

I get that everyone hates the spam, and its really annoying, but all we need is minimal effort here to alert us to the spam. Literally 5 seconds or less of your time to open a thread and flag it.

    Thanks!

I use subscriptions almost exclusively, so I rarely see any spam threads, but I will keep this in mind.

    Ah :embar:

Danger of idly skimming through posts while sorta kinda working - don't always really process or read in context . . .
