1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

As someone who in the past, has gotten myself tangled up into pissing matches with you in various threads, I must admit, your patience with seeing an argument through to the end and not taking things too personally has been admirable to me. I must admit, I learn more from many of your threads than I'd like to admit at times. I would agree your contributions to the forum have added a great deal of value to the discourse in here. There, I said it.

If you are correct, he's quite talented.

    I appreciate the response.

Sometimes adhering to rules becomes difficult when one is a member of many forum sites. What I can say here, I can't there and so forth. You know what I mean. At a point stuff becomes a blur.

In any event, I appreciate the fact that you, J & the members have allowed me back. FWIW this is the only forum I really put effort into staying a part of. I'm trying.

I will confess, here only, that I have had moments of doubt. Perhaps he is serious. But I don't thinks so. He writes more like someone feigning enthusiasm and trying to whip people into a lather than like someone who means what he says. He also pretends to an incredibly broad knowledge base - lot's of genuine people do that, but most "real" people don't claim to be experts on everything. Most convincing, to me at least, is that you can sometimes see his evident strain in trying to keep the Sam Spade show moving. In any event, he is fun to read. What gives me pause is his sheer longevity. Writing as he does his hard work, even if he thinks it fun. It is hard to imagine keeping a troll going for so long with so much effort. That is why I never doubted nameback.

^ It's all about context. That post would have been lauded in the Racist Incidents Threak.

Thank you for getting rid of it, mordecai.

That thread made me wish I had mod powers in CE. There is actually some interesting discussion going on in there between the resident lawyers, but it was being drowned out by all the disgusting bigotry.

I rewatched 30 minutes of that this weekend. What a terrible movie. Has Mike Meyers ever been funny?

Maybe not directly, but I used to date a girl with long blond hair and we dressed up as Wayne and Garth once. That was pretty funny.

come on, the scottish bit in "so i married an axe murderer" is pretty classic. the guy is responsible for any number of famous movie catchphrases.

The giant melon bit is really good. I'll admit that. Responsible for movie catch phrases does not make them funny. I forgot about his SNL skit where he is the hyperactive kid tied to a jungle gym.

Let me ammend my comment. Mike Meyers has produced so much shit comedy it completely overshadows the 10 cumulative minutes of humor.

I think I'd still find Wayne's World funny. Also, Bhowie loves the horrible TV show MASH.

I wonder if watching MASH is what gave me teh yellow fever. Actually, I think it goes back to when I learned to read.
