There's nothing to stop you from doing it but I really believe it is against styleforum etiquette (does that exist?) to buy an item at a great price from one member and then blatantly attempt to flip it at a huge profit. Raising the price a little bit to cover your shipping cost, ok, but selling the same item for more than double the price you paid? Come on.

(I am talking specifically about the guy who is selling one of afranzheim's WWM shirts in the SW&D buy and sell.)

Seriously, the bespoke kung fu jackets thread is equivalent to throwing up the RJ bat-symbol. Where the hell are you?

If this was in response to my post, actually I was asking about the practice of posting a new message with "sold XXX" to bump up your thread to the top, and _not_ about relisting for mucho $$. Sold bumps seem unnecessary to me, but if it is legal and everyone is doing it and it is deemed OK by the mods, then I would like to as well in order to compete with the other sold bumps.

Sold bumps are not okay. Read the pinned threads in B&S.
"Why was my thread locked?!!" I get this question a lot. Because: * You bumped your thread by saying "bump" * You bumped it by posting more pics or measurements in a reply to the OP * You bumped it by answering a question in a reply to the OP * You bumped it to say "item x sold" * You bumped it to say "somebody buy these please" * You bumped it for any other reason other than a significant price reduction * You bumped it to say "PM sent" or anything like that * You bumped it * You bumped it * You bumped it * You bumped it, "but only once per day/week/whatever" (?!!!!!??!??!!!) * You bumped it for _____ reason * You bumped it because you can't/won't read/follow rules * You bumped it because you want to drive us all crazy and cause us more hassle

I have read the pinned threads before, but enforcement seems lax so I figured perhaps something may have changed. I guess not.

Then I suppose the question is: should I bother to continue reporting rules violations? I understand mods have plenty to attend to, so I'm not complaining or asking for more enforcement. I just want to know that I'm not wasting my own time, by reporting stuff that won't be looked at most of the time. Alternately, I wouldn't mind doing some enforcing.

All the sold bumps I see reported, I deal with. I am pretty sure the other mods mostly do too. I'm sure it's more underreporting than us not being interested in doing it... even though it's not an especially fun thing to spend one's time doing.

Please add to smilie list ASAP.

YOU ARE WELCOME. Though credit goes to StephenHero for the original drawing, I just made the smiley. This is a better one, less blank-space on either side of the face:
