For what it's worth I don't read many new threads b/c there are so many pinned threads and appreciation/official threads that it is hard to even notice them and they are rarely interesting but honestly I don't see a lot of troll threads. I do see noob threads, and threads that don't fit into the "baler" circle jerk that tends to dominate at times. Maybe provide a link. But I don't think you can stop people from asking silly questions nor do I think you would want to. Just my 2 cents.
+1, the circle jerk dbaggery is one of the main reasons I don't post in SW&D as much as other sections. There are noob threads in other sections too ("does this suit fit me?" x googolplex in MC, "find me a new hairstyle" in Health & Body etc), and it's probably much worse in MC, but they don't complain nearly as much as the SW&D inner circle do. It's not hard to just ignore them. If they dominate page 1, click page 2.

Has anyone showed you the "Report Post" button? You click the [IMG] icon in the left margin of the post. It's better for everyone involved.
