Especially the sock/asshole who is ******** up the wine threak. This has to be one of the most civil threaks on this forvm, and considering that it's about wine and there's no pissing contests involved I think that's remarkable. Then this Petrus1 guy comes along, trying his absolute best to disrupt the discussion - and then makes another sock after banning. His IP needs to be banned.

The worst thing about socks isn't the socks (though they are stupid) -- it is this:

Newb: Oh hai guiz! I am a noob, here are all my noob questions, so excited!!
Member1: Well, basically this, this, and this. And you should search while you're at it.
Member2: That question is soo stupid and mocks Forum groupthink so much that the newb=sock
Member3: He's a sock!!
Member4: Don't feed the Troll.
Member5: He's an X-sock, or maybe a Y-sock.
Newb: guise, I am fo realz.
Member6: Troll! Troll! Troll!

Best ending? Newb has already posted in other threads and abandons this one. Worst ending? Newb doesn't come back or goes into lurker-mode. I really have no idea what can be done about that sort of thing.

These days I just assume that every new poster is some old poster's sock. Probably a correct assumption more often than not.

These days I mostly assume it's Bris, particularly if the thread mentions Bris. In that respect, he's a bit like Beetlejuice.
