They are two different beasts, so difficult to compare IMHO.
Automatic vs manual wind, 38 vs 41mm, black vs white dial, luminova hands vs blued steel hands......
If you don´t plan to use it with a suit, I think you´ll find much more wearable the Sinn.

I have not had the pleasure of owning a watch from either of these two brands. Biut I do have a weak spot for Sinn and have been looking at a few models over the years. Never considered Stowa. My vote goes to the Sinn.

STOWA, in my opinion is more beautiful and versatile. It also opens the possibility to swap between black and brown straps. And trust me that you would enjoy a look now and then at that nice transparent back.

Sinn on the other hand is better value.

Both nice watches but I prefer Stowa. I bought a new Stowa last year, my wife bought a new Sinn 456. Stowa took a while to arrive but good communication and service. The Sinn arrived quickly but had two problems, a dented crown right out of the box, well it was more of circular flaw in the steel than a dent, and an auto winding mechanism that was stuck, it did not auto wind even if worn constantly. It went back and was replaced in the end but it took a long time, cost us the insured postage to Germany to get it sent back, communication from Sinn was zero and the replacement arrived with no explanation or apology, just a watch in a box. I personally will not buy a Sinn as a result of this poor experience.

i have 2 sinns and a stowa (mo). i like them all just about equally. from a branding and company perspective, perhaps i prefer sinn. they appeal to 2 different aesthetics so u should just get whatever catches your eye more

Tough one, both the Marine Original and the 656 are very different watches, both German and both very well made.

If it were my hard earned cash, I would go with the Stowa because it's more versatile.

Between these two, the Stowa.

If it was a Sinn 142, 356 or EZM3, my answer would be different.

That 356 is a beaut. Otherwise I'd go with the Stowa over the 656 as well.

Has Switzerland annexed Rheinfelden when I've not been paying attention?

Depends what you want the watch for: Sinn's more sporty, Stowa's more dressy and, for my money, more versatile (but then I own a Stowa which I love dearly).
