Do you or would you consider wearing a single designer head to toe? Especially something very runway... Since becoming a little more in-tune with style/fashion I've begun noticing this more and more.. esp in the more stylish cities (i.e. NYC). Is this a new trend? It's something I've never even considered in the past (but am now).. it's always been a mix and match things with me, various nice pieces with some basics.

No it's tacky and shows a lack of individuality and creativity.

Also known as mannequin mimic.

i would never do it. not solely because they were all from the same maker, but rather no designer ever makes a comprehensive ensemble sensible enough for me to wear head to toe.

i like pure blue jeans, but i wouldnt wear a pure blue sportcoat with it because that isnt their strength and it doesnt look good anyways.
i like let say a brioni sweater on, but i wouldnt wear a brioni jean because they suck in fit.

Yes. I could easily wear Wings + Horns head to toe and often get pretty close to doing just that. They have awesome sneakers, amazing boots, excellent jean cuts, pants, tons of flannels, shirts, mid layers, knits, hoodies, and great outerwear, too. They even make hats and scarves. And it's pretty much all good, and it all fits well.

I guess I could wear Margiela head to toe. Possibly Lanvin. I don't wear Rick pants or shoes so I could try but it would be sorta indecent. I often wear two articles by the same designer in one outfit though; say Lanvin jacket + sneakers w. Cloak pants & outerwear.

MMM works on it's own but IMO blends pretty well with lanvin, dries, balenciaga.

I could easily wear MMM, Dries van Noten, Jil Sander, head-to-toe, no problem. Dior Homme too. I could wear Geller and Cloak as well, but footwear might be a bit more of a problem. Smaller makers that cater to the contemporary market are nearly too easy - I could easily wear Wings+Horns and Rag&Bone head to toe as well.

Admittedly, I have worn Dior Homme from head to toe...streetwear only though.

That said, I feel self conscious if I am wearing more than 2 things from a single brand at the same time.

I'll do this too because margiela pants look good with margiela shoes for example or jil sweater with jil shirt but more often each piece I wear is diferent ie lanvin, raf, vb, dior, carpe in one fit.
