2nd that on the suit buttons...
looking for those flat faced non beveled horn buttons in like a dark green for a suit i'm having made

Dark green horn? I haven't seen any offerings like that. I'm looking at just a couple of horn choices to start out, light brown and dark brown probably. Did you perhaps mean a dark green Mother of Pearl suit button?

Stunning MOP buttons, SP. I commissioned a navy suit recently and have been looking for thick, solid dark brown/black buffalo horn buttons. I ended up picking up a number of dark brown buttons with medium brown speckling from a local shop. Interested in solid dark brown/black buttons (something like the BT 2) for a dark grey suit and topcoat so let me know if you can source a matching set and other details--sizes, thickness, (un)polished.

I sent you a PM on ordering the MOP AK and Standard.

Per request, here are some additional pictures of the AK Smoke and Standard Smoke buttons. Both styles have lighter (more shiny) and darker (less shiny, more opaque) versions that can be sorted upon request. The Standard is more defined between those two colorations than the AK. All MOPs have their own natural variations in the nacre and it is hard for my amateur photo skills to capture but I hope this helps. From Left to Right: AK darker then AK lighter, 18L bottom 16L top. Then Standard darker then lighter, 16L bottom 14L top. Same layout as above, just looking from the other side. AK 18L and Standard 16L, both lighter. Standard - lighter bottom, darker top AK's - darker bottom, lighter top

Have been using the "AK" buttons on all of my shirts, great buttons and great seller to deal with.

Perhaps a stupid question, but are these real shell buttons? The photos of the back of the buttons don't really look like shell. Pardon the question if the answer should be obvious.

Hello, the answer is Yes. I only offer real Mother of Pearl shell buttons. They are among the thickest available anywhere and are cut from Australian oyster shell.

The backs are made "clean" during the drilling and polishing phase at the factory in Italy, which means there are no rough shell pieces left. You may be thinking of Trocas shell buttons, which are much more likely to have those dull pieces left on the back. Some lesser quality MOP buttons may also have that.

Hope that helps!

Because this thread is quite old, I was wondering about the availability of the AK smoke and the standard smoke?

Update 12/15/2014:

All the buttons in this thread are still available. Just wanted to send a quick update and let everyone know that when it comes to the smoke color buttons, if you happen to have a preference of very dark and more opaque, I can sort those out for you so just let me know when you order.

cheers,
SP

Thanks for your interest, however, I do not have any MOP buttons for suit jackets. My other thread has buffalo horn suit buttons for sale in black and brown, though.

I did look into MOP suit buttons but the demand seems to be very low and the cost was quite high so I decided against it.

cheers,
SP
