what is this wrinkle i have seen some times on lattanzi and kiton shoes ?

It is just the `Lattanzi charm'.
Let me tell you more about the `Lattanzi charm' with some examples;

1 - one shoe made in one construction and another shoe made in another construction

2 - one side of the shoe antiqued well and the other side non antiqued and a slight different colour (seen it)

3 - shoes that look like they have been through a mincer (seen numerous ones online)

4 - shoes that fall apart after 4 wears

5- wrinkled uppers in weird places like you spotted.

6 - when Mr Lattanzi sews a pair with wide crooked stitching and sends them in a big box rattling around inside

These things don't raise eyebrows anymore.
Anything goes at Lattanzi.
It is just how it is.

More Lattanzi greatness.
Only from Lattanzi would you find shoes that find their way into the public like this.

Lattanzi - defective 1.jpg

Is that heel almost falling off too?
Hardly surprised,
Lattanzi is full of little tricks like this. :smarmy:
Lattanzi - defective 2.jpg
Lattanzi - defective 3.jpg

You like?
Many shoe companies can sell defects,
but have you ever seen defects like this?
Only at Lattanzi,
this is the type of silly stuff that goes on.

Me think Mr Lattanzi is giving up.
New York boutique = gone
Milan boutique = gone
Chinese boutiques = probably gone soon with implosion of China.

The greatest shoemaker of all,
but look what it has come too.
Crunched up shoes.
Who else would ever sink this low.

That looks like a demo model from 25 years ago. I know they sold off a lot of merchandise from the very old days.

I never owned a pair of Lattanzi, but some models from him in a showcase here in Berlin attracted my attention in the middle of the nineties because of their beauty and high price, around 1000 DM (German Mark).

Sad to see such a great maker and prestigious brand fall this low.

What you call "Lattanzi charm" are big defects, and one has to name it, no matter how good the producer potentially is. At the prices demanded totally unacceptable. I would never spend a huge amount of money on something that could possibly be great, or reversely trash.

My four pair of Bespoke Lattanzi's. I have had/worn these for 23 years and they are still as comfortable as when I first picked them up at Louis' Boston.

Good to see you here Cliff.
Yes Lattanzi makes the most comfortable and beautiful shoes of anyone imo.

He is also the greatest antiquing /patina artist.
So many shoes can look flashy and fake,
but Lattanzi does a patina that makes shoe look naturally aged.
No one else does that like Lattanzi.

Look at the two green shoes on top shelf
Look at two shoe on second shelf closest to photo
Old looking vintage shoes.
INCREDIBLE!!!

No other cordwainer make shoes that look like that above.
No one can compare to Lattanzi.

Another photo from AAAC.
A real aged patina

Never seen any other maker do norvegese like Lattanzi does it.
Look at how small those stitches are that attach the upper to the sole (proper functional norvegese).
All the big name makers use big stitches except lattanzi (show pony norvegese with little purpose).
Lattanzi do the best norvegese by far,
it actually secures the upper the best and keeps the water out.

Not a fan of these heavy patinas.

For me Lattanzi is at his best in the plain, timeless style, as shown in these shoes of yours.
