May I ask what this is in aid of? Neither are really practical for daily wear, so I'd assume you have a purpose for this...

I'm wearing a silk shirt today. It's one of the toughest shirts I own.

I feel there are only a number of small occassions where a silk or satin shirt would ever be acceptable:

- If you are a celebrity going to an awards show
- If you own an Ozwald Boateng suit (which isn't a bad thing)

That is it in my opinion.

I don't go clubbing. I can't imagine where else I'd need silk or satin shirts.

I have numerous patterned silk dress shirts that some would consider flamboyant in the Versace manner, which is what some of them are.

I recently bought a dress shirt with multi-color thin stripes made from silk. Not flamboyant, not shiny. Got lots of complements.

But otherwise, I already lived through the 70's. Don't need to revisit it wearing shirts with a sheen.

I actually like a sheen on a shirt and blazer and some pants as well, nothing too shiny but a like the look. Would I wear this to work (Self Employed)? Probably not.

No not for daily wear just for going out with a little bit of extra flash.

Question, the avatar you use, who is the guy in the picture? From a movie I might know?

I like a nice silk shirt every now and then. I think they look great with a dinner suit. James Bond did it (books) and Dennis Farina did it on Law and Order
