Just wondering if most people on the board like to change there fits or keep it the same. For instance one day i'll wear a slim jean which means the top half has to be fitted. Then the next day i'll wear say RRDS and have a very slightly looser fit all round (never baggy though). I think i'd get bored if i had the same sort of fit going on all the time so i like to make subtle changes

I've seen some try this and it doesn't really suit them. You should stick to what your style is/what looks best on you and change the style of clothing but necessarily the silhouettes. Mine varies only slightly.

I stay with the same silhouette. I dont like anything that isnt fitted so you'll prolly never see me wearing anything baggy/slouchy. I could "pull it off"(baggy) but I wouldnt feel comfortable, and that's the #1 reason for not wearing something if you're not completely confident leaving the house in it.

But *my* bandwidth of playing with different "styles" is probably one of the narrowest of anyone on this forum. I have a closet full of the same stuff. I like argyles, so i have like 5+ argyle polos, argyle zipups, argyle sweaters...all looking the same but by different makers. Same with gingham shirts. and checked/plaid trousers. All with the same silhouette.

Mine vary slightly, but it's far more cost effective to stay in the same 'range' of fits. I can't afford two wardrobes

I play with silhouette sometimes, but it's usually on the torso or my feet.

Alot of times I like the top-heavy look... fitted extra long jeans or slim slacks stuffed in clunky boots coupled with a boxy long coat or XL M65 up top.

I don't like wearing big coats with baggy denim. This winter my nudie RRDGs which're snug but not stretched-tight are getting less use. I only wear these when in a t-shirt nowadays...

I have a few jeans that are more relaxed, but generally keep a similar sillhouette with my outfits.

i like playing with silhouette a bit, but nothing very extreme. I'll sometimes wear very slim jeans and a tight jacket to keep the look relatively streamlined. but when i wear some of my slouchier jeans (i say slouchy because they're not a baggy cut, just a sort of loose-slim aesthetic) i'll opt for a bigger t-shirt or hoodie/sweater and thicker shoes.

i don't really fool around with contrast between the top and bottom half too often. i'm not tiny and i've found that going for a top or bottom heavy look seems to be more for the skinny guys.

i change my silhouette daily. i alternate between skinny-minnie to baggy-shaggy and mix in countless permutations.

it is fun to shapeshift.

mainly, it is based on my denim rotation. everything else is... gravy.

I feel that the term "fitted" and "baggy" are also slightly subjective. I feel that America has a problem of endemic bagginess. In my eyes most people wear clothes that are about a size too big for them. A lot of times what one will call fitted I would consider too big, or "relaxed". I personally like the feeling of being slightly restricted, not tight but a close cut. A close cut that most people would consider tight. To me it just fits properly.

I like my silhouette fitted, but not too fitted. I do change up the fit on my denim, from slouchy, to slim, to straight/relaxed but most my tees tend to be the same size as well as sweaters and such.

So yes, I dabble.

Aye, I change my shape up depending on what I wear. The old faithful Diesel bootcuts have to come out when I'm layering up sweaters and jackets... hell, I have jackets that I can't fit my sweaters under, so I pretty much have to change up my shape.

I've gone right off of my looser jeans though... but then again two years ago people thought I was insane for wearing something as 'tight' as a pair of Zathans. Nowadays if I'm going to wear a slouchy long-armed hoody it's going to be in combination with slim assed jeans rather than a pair of wider bootcuts.

Silhouette, by way of fit, is linked to body image. (People who don't like their shape often wear baggy clothing, research has confirmed.) That might be why it is jarring if someone's personal style does not have a consistent silhouette.

god im sad, mine is based purely on what jeans I wear, its tricky to allways match fits on things but my clothes tend to be slim to baggy ( thanks to internet shopping! ).

Its just occured to me im wearing cords today, for the first time in well over a year. superconfession.

I wear a uniform (hoodie, jeans, sneakers) (often a hat, in the winter add a jacket, in the summer substitute the hoodie for various teeshirt combinations, always a belt) and play with tones and silhouettes. I'm reasonably tall (5'11") and quite slender/athletic, so I find that a wide range of silhouettes work for m. Usually, I like my tops more fitted than my bottoms. Often, I'll do a relaxed bottom and fitted top, but rarely the other way around (though I've seen it done well, it requires a really good physique. Mine is decent, but not model amazing. Otherwise, you can end up looking pretty stupid.) Sometimes, I'll do more of a slim-slim silhouette, and occasionally, I'll do an all over boxy (but not baggy) silhouette, workman-style.

I'm also conscientious about tones, which is wear I usually see people going wrong. Rye GB invariably gets in right, but he is a designer, and uses lots of stark blacks and reds or cool tones (greys and grey blues). My default is in the cool part of the color spectrum as well these days, mainly because I default to the tone of the jeans I'm wearing, and lately, it's primarily been SDA-D1002s and 5EPs, which have cool grey and green tones, respectively. been but for variety, I'll occasionally break out a warm brown jacket and pair it with a warm pair of jeans (SPURRs have become my go to pair for "warm" jeans). But I digress...
