In late March, I decided to grow out sideburns down to the bottom of my ear, a style that I liked. It took a little over a month to grow in fully. However, there is significant contrast between my head hair, which is light blonde, and my facial hair, which is coarse and dark. I've had them for a couple of months, but am slowly realizing they are not as good as I wished.

So, should I keep them? I don't want any answers like, "grow them out more." I've done that and all they do is curl up and look like pubes. I like to keep my hair, specifically the sides, short and tapered (side part generally) so I want the burns to be blended with the hair. I feel like they make me look older, but at the same time take away from my generally clean kept look.

I've gotten about three to four haircuts since growing them, and in between I am forced to trim them so they don't pube up. I'm thinking of just trying again in a couple years when my facial hair might come in thicker and blend much easier with my hair. Photos below.

I had wished my sideburns would come in like my head hair, but they don't. There is a clear line just below the top of my ear where the blonde hair fades and the dark, coarse facial hair begins. So, should I shave there or keep them to the bottom of the ear?

The pictures don't show enough of the face to be worth much. Normally sideburns (without facial hair) shouldn't go far past the middle of the ears.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

 • Plain hem

 • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

 • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

 • No preference, as long as the proportions work
