^ I believe he is a dapper dan man. I have found that pomade is much to stiff and waxy (and it NEVER comes out of your hair) there are other old timey concoctions such as hair oil and hair tonic that I have yet to try.

Pomades that do this are a small minority.

Let me take a guess. Your point of reference was Murray's Hair Pomade.

^+1. I don't even have that high of a hairline, but when I tried a side-part type of style, it made it look like I was balding. Not good.

I love a nice part, I wear it quite often.

Right now I have a mohawk though. (pre college graduation celebration, never again, dont worry)

It used to be the standard adult male haircut. It has no special requirements.

I feel very weird without my hair side-parted.

Gel works well for the wet look. It'll be crunchy when it drys, but if you run your fingers through your hair later in the day it'll retain the part. I normally use paul mitchell soft spray gel or leave-in conditioner (more natural look).

    Ditto.

I've been wearing it side-parted forever. That's just how "grown-ups" do things. But I am an old fogey (at 26). I don't use any products on it.

    +1

i'm in the process of finding a new hair style, but my preferences always come back to one with a part on the side.

my hair is very short on the sides and back, with the top varying in length depending on the season, mood, etc.

Hey guys, I have very stiff hair that just stands up straight. Is there anyway I can train my hair to part at the side? Any method? thanks

See my avatar? That's me, age four, I've kept the hairstyle since, then, so the parting is more or less permanent.
