Anyone here work side jobs in addition to their career? More or less just curious, all these nice clothes and cars don't come for free....

(Blogging for money, YouTube stars, flipping burgers, hard core Appreciation, mowing grass, etc...)

I've worked at Brooks Brothers for about a year and a half. The Good - I'm only one full day on the weekends and if I need a whole weekend off they accomodate, and 50% off with multiple opportunities for 60% off throughout the year is a nice discount. The Bad - we were short staffed for awhile and I was working every weekend 18+hr, and with a full time 50hr/week job I was getting very run down. I went through an 8 week stretch without a day off, and I won't be doing that again.

So ive been offered a position with a new custom clothing company, I would love to do it, but they want me to attend a seminar to learn how to measure customers, and they want me to pay 499.00.

I would have thought that if a company hires you they would pay for your training. Your thoughts please

You should never have to pay for this type of training.

Yes. I have a few, including a small business. I would do more but I don't really want to work that much more.

My side job is great for networking, I basically run a small medical society of doctors. Not a lot of hours really...just sporadic, the connections I make are better than the pay.

I do small engine repair (motorcycles and lawnmowers) out of my garage. Keeps me in beer money.

I have a side job as a clown. I also double as an escort on the weekends, a stripper friday night (I am member of the chippendales), and busk on the street during lunch hour at my main job.
