Hi guys, I have this problem that I think must be pretty common. I have a pretty common body type - long body, shorter legs, 33x32 pant size, 5'11", 180 lbs. I have slight "love handles" but no gut really. I wear jeans to work most days, or casual khakis, as that is the style at work (here in the midwest.) Anyway, I tuck my shirt in and wear a belt every day. Problem is, I just can't get my jeans/pants to stay up! I try to wear my jeans at a reasonable level, and I buy them either in a regular or relaxed fit. But, unless my belt is tightly cinched, they just won't stay up. I wear a 33 waist which sits nice and snug (usually), but unless I have my belt one notch past comfortable, they slide down with each step. I don't know if it's a walking problem, or my body shape, or what. Anyway, are there a lot of you guys out there that tend to have to wear your belts pretty tight? I know many people will say "switch to suspenders", but that is a big NO, because it just wouldn't fit me or my work environment. Also, others say to pull my pants up higher, but I HATE that look, especially with jeans! I've even tried the lower-waisted jeans, which was even worse. In fact, my belt bugs me so much that sometimes, when I'm sitting down, I unbuckle it for comfort. I have tried every width and type of belt, to no avaiil. So my question is, are belts SUPPOSED to be worn tightly? Or am I just ultra-sensitive to the cinch?
