Shrink RL/Burberry Polo w/o ruing color

Sup, i got a bunch of XL RL and Burberry polos but i have adjusted my style and now they look WAY too big on me, expecialy with the tail on the RL. Is there any way to make them shrink by washing them to say a L without loosing the color much or ruining the shirt? They have never been washed before because i barely wear them because they are too big. Thanks.
