Question for all you EG-ologists out there: when did EG make a 5” inseam fatigue short? Just bought a pair used and curious as to the date. Maybe mid 2010s? The fit is very TTS, so before the current oversized era?

I have an ultra-short pair from SS 16. It was around SS 19 when things started getting really long.

Ya I think SS16 had the 5" inseam, they are my favorite EG shorts. I think they did the Fatigue and Ranger Shorts that season. I buy them any time one comes up in my size.

Thanks, that sounds about right. I have some longer ones, from 2013 or 14, but I also might prefer the shorter inseam. The longer inseams from that time had leg openings that are just a tiny bit too narrow for my preference.

They should be quite similar, maybe ~1-2cm difference between the carlyle pant and FA pant.

Kinda EG's obsession with americana and pockets meets orSlow's perfectionism meets Evan Kinori's love of dyes and drape or something. Asking in this thread because I don't know where else to post, and the brand name is next to impossible to do a search of.

Apols if this has already been covered but having bought well over a dozen EG jackets in the past, half of them quite possibly Bedfords, and they've always been a consistent off-the-peg perfect cut for me, has the sizing completely changed? Earlier this season I picked up a Loiter in a medium, which was far more generous in the cut than the previous versions and I found myself using the side tabs immediately as the body felt too roomy, for what has always been a generous cut for an EG jacket, but importantly the arms were reasonably typical in length. I've just taken delivery of another ripstop Bedford M and the sizing is huge compared to earlier Bedfords.

This is the S23 ripstop overlaid with an earlier Nylon Bedford, which has always been the typical cut and fit when buying new in the past. Can easily see the arms are wider and longer, body is longer and much wider, definitely a loss of shape from under the arms, the shoulder is almost the same

I'm wondering whether to give this a 40-wash and shorten the arms (never had to do that before) or back it and look for a small, although they all seem to have sold out. Has this been a thing for a few seasons, it's been a while since I bought any EG?

How earlier are you talking about? And yes, the sizing has been more and more relaxed in the last few years. Especially for the jackets and outerwear.

Just looked at my bureau emails, the Loiters I had from them were 2016 & 2017, that nylon Bedford is 2019. Picked up an Andover suit 2019, a Logger and a Bedford, and quite a few vests, tees, and some pants over the last handful of years, all those I've thought were reasonably consistent in sizing. This year, a Loiter, and Carlyle pant (first time I've gone for the Carlyle, waist seemed typical Medium for me) in HC twill. The only outerwear I ever sized down on was the waxed Barbour overhead Parka, with the rear zipper and I sized up once on a particular version of the cagoule.

Seems quite a jump in sizing this one, perhaps I would be better off looking for a small.

@rotide around 2019 is when sizing jumped up considerably. If you like things looking more fitted. Sizing down is the move. There are old season pieces I have in XL that barely fit and I have outerwear from ‘21 in a M with room to layer underneath.

A question for the thread: I picked up this season’s Natural Twill Bedford & fatigues to wear as a suit at my wedding this September. (Very casual backyard affair) I sized up on the fatigues so I can wear them at my true waist (I have a beer belly). They look great however they’re bunching up quite a bit at the center seam at my butt. Not sure if Daiki was designing these for guys who do squats but I definitely don’t have the glutes to fill these boys out. Anyone ever have this problem fixed by their tailor? Google shows me it’s possible but I could still return the pants for a size down and wear them below my belly - which is not preferred. Input is appreciated!
