Should my choice of colour for luggage be guided by my shoes?

I have been searching for a brown leather holdall for a long time, and I am contemplating to buy one from Maxwell Scott, but having difficulties deciding on the hue. I quite like the classic tan below, and it also matches most of my shoes pretty well. Or do you guys reckon that the dark chocolate is a more stylish bet, and that matching luggage with shoes is a bit over the top? Your thoughts are most appreciated.

Here's a link to the Mawell website, should anyone be interested in reading a bit more about the bags.

i find the second one a closer match to the color of my leather harness, so personally, i'd go for the second.

sadly, the buckles do not match the color of the rivets on the harness. some tradeoffs are inevitable.

YMMV, of course.

Your murse doesn't have to match your shoes. That's something that women do. And, as I understand it, even women don't really do it all that much anymore.

It is, however, totally true that your sock garters must match your spats

Trying to match shoe color to luggage seems a bit OCD.

Lol, nothing wrong with gay people, but the matching argument was more a matter of trying to convince myself to go with the first one.

Luggage should match the color hair on your monkey valet or footman. If you don't have a monkey for valet or footman, you should not travel.

If you should chose to ignore my recommendations, choose the lighter one as the patina will develop nicely.

The first one will turn more heads. Buy it now. Quantities are limited.

Go with the first because it will also go with black whereas the second will clash.

You can't go wrong with either of those. Do a coin flip and just get it.

Btw, don't bother matching your shoes with your bag, that's a bit over the top.
