Hey guys i was just wondering.

Is it worth it to get two different suits for two different formals?

Theyre 2 days apart.

Id appreciate any opinions.

Nobody can really answer this question for you -- it's all relative based on how much money you have, how much you're planning to spend on a suit, and how often you'll wear suits in the future.

That said, a plain charcoal suit wouldn't be noticeable if worn twice, and you can use it in the future for other occasions like funerals, weddings, and job interviews. (That's a dark gray near black, but not black, FYI.)

A formal event would call for a tuxedo/dinner jacket, but looking past that, it should be fine. Wear a different tie.

Minimum of 4 suits for each, plus a couple of odd jackets and at least 3 monocles.

It's year 12 formal. No one will notice let alone care. But don't wear the same shirt twice - it might stink or has steak sauce from previous formal on it :p. Have fun!

Better to buy one of a better quality than two inferior ones. You probably won't be wearing suits that regularly in the next few years so there's probably not a real need to purchase two now. Go for something conservative, like a solid navy (or charcoal), which is also more suitable for social wear in the evening. A good pair of shoes will probably last you longer as well. I bought my first pair of better quality men's shoes (albeit still only Loake) when I was 18 and I still wear them four years later. I'd wear a different tie though.
