Should I put my sweater out to pasture ?

    Good evening,

To my horror I discovered today that my favorite sweater is ill and I worry it may be terminal.

This is a wine-red thick burberry crewneck that I've been wearing over a shirt for the past winters. It fits perfectly and compliments my shirts well and frankly I'm not ready to let go.

Today I noticed that I've almost worn trough the wool at the elbows. What to do ? Should I have patches put on, stop resting on my elbows or make a rather odd vest out of it ?

What have you done to salvage your cherised sweaters ?

either put patches on it, or wear it proudly in its worn and decaying state. If is a good quality sweater, it will still look acceptable in certain cases. Not out to dinner at a fine restaurant, but certainly on the weekend running errands.
