Considering kopping, but the relatively low price makes me feel like there must be a catch. Are there fake travelers floating around? Something else I'm missing? Or is the cost of this coat just much lower in Japan? Also, how much do folks with more proxy experience estimate shipping would cost?

I don’t know if it’s the right thread either, but message @Trayco. He’s handled a bunch of travelers and can likely weigh in. I can tell you it’s at least a few seasons old - the tag inside mine is different compared to that one.

What makes you feel that something is off? It's a 2nd hand/used coat - the price is probably in line with other used KS traveler coats out there.

It's a different brand, fabric and model but the blue is a somewhat similar jacket as reference in size 48.

If you know your Alden sizing I highly recommend setting an eBay alert and waiting it out. Non D width sizing often goes for a steal

You can get very good things on YJP for very little money if you are diligent, especially Japanese-made products or Japanese brands. I'm hesitant to even recommend it too much, though, as I don't know that I want more westerners looking at the same things

I can understand that 😄. I'm familiar with YJP, Rakuten, etc. in a general sense just from lurking, but haven't actually used them before, so I'm not familiar with red flags to look out for, how to suss out good deals, etc. I suppose I should probably take the plunge on a relatively cheap item to start with, just so there's less risk.
