Another kind of sandal for hot weather, not as rustic as the Paraboot or Birkenstock, on sale now.

I have fallen in love with Phlannel coats but they seem all OOS and the only US stockist is Namu Shop (who is also sold out of the coats). Does anyone know where to get a coat like this in the US? Looking for an unstructured coat with an oversized fit. Thanks.

"Hey, what are all these holes?"
"These are speed holes, they make the [shoe] go faster."
"Oh, yeeaaah. Speed holes!"

Really hard to get here, unfortunately, as you’ve discovered, and the best styles sell out early in the season. You can’t really wait for sales season on much of their stuff. Bloom & Branch (which I believe owns Phlannel) is the best place to look, and I do believe they’ll ship overseas, but there‘s a good chance you’ve already looked there and what you want is out of stock.

I have a black/grey wool herringbone balmacaan from them from a couple years back that is perhaps my favorite coat—and I own sooo many coats. (But the sleeves are too short, so my wife gets to wear my favorite coat, and it looks perfect oversized on her. They’ve expanded their size range since, so I might have more luck now with sleeve length.) This is just to say that they don’t disappoint in person.

Best of luck!

Paraboot for the summer? Alternative to Birkenstock Arizonas.

I have the black ones, bought on sale from Todd Snyder. I think that colour reads as less Dad-ish. This style is popular in Japan, and as usual I relied on translated Rakuten reviews for sizing. I think they and tend to look better in a workwear context. Baggy white Orslow fatigue pants, Uniqlo U, etc. Basically anywhere I would be wearing Paraboots anyways.

I’ve been eyeing this jacket and just wanted to see if anyone has familiarity with the brand Sefr. I’ve seen them around, but don’t have any sense of its general quality or typical cuts. Would anyone recommend or discourage based on their own experience? Jacket exterior is 80 wool and 20 polyamide.

Whenever I’ve seen it at trade shows, it always seemed to be nice stuff.

I've owned a corduroy shirt jacket and a pair of canvas pants. Good stuff, decent quality.
