Agreed. Hot take: the Valstar Clint is pretty meh.

Is it supposed to be flashy? I mean it's "just" a suede bomber with a little western flair, right? It's perfect for me, as a dad jacket...maybe less interesting for someone in their 20s?

This is nice, and should darken and patina nicely. It is pricey though.

I may be one of the few Valstar sceptics here, as someone who is shorter in the torso, I have to say that Valstar jackets are long, and if you are already short in the body, they look even longer. If you look at the models they use or you see people wearing them well online, they tend to be on the thinner and longer side. The jackets I tried looked nothing like that on me (and it wasn't about 'size'). So, whether Valstar is right for you depends a lot on your proportions. Just my two cents on this one...

have you tried sticking tennis balls in your pants and shoes?

I've always liked these but more of a shirt jacket to me.

It is literally a suede shirt, i.e. you can style it as a jacket but it doesn't offer the same possibilities as the Valstar which looks fine to me but I've never seen it in person and I have two suede jackets so no need for more.

Who said anything about that it had to be flashy? I just said I thought it was meh. Ymmv of course and I am happy you like it.

I guess I was just trying to get at what you didn't like.
