I’m really digging this Saint Laurent. It’s perfect with just jeans for the summer, but not sure if it’s right for my fisic at the moment. I don’t wanna look like a giant disco ball.

I agree that it wouldn't be good to wear something that offends a group or culture, but I don't know if I think the use of symbols like the eagle and feather by Goros do this. I believe the use of imagery is different from appropriating or replicating traditional garments or styles.

I feel the same about Asian symbols and imagery, most of it isn't offensive to me.

Takahashi did learn from Native groups themselves in his time with them.

I wouldn’t buy anything that was an insult to any group, indigenous or otherwise. If it’s a tribute, whether design, music, food, whatever, it’s fair game for me.
Full disclosure: I wear a Goros feather everyday so I pretty much have to double down on my possibly questionable stance here...
To me, the ethos and story of the brand are what draw me to Goros. I think their pieces are also much more aesthetically pleasing than other brands I've seen. But the price to get it outside of Japan is just ridiculous.

What's the story behind you getting your feather and if you just purchased it resell, does it still have meaning to you?

I'm a tribal citizen and I don't mind non tribal people rocking feathers and beads and what not. Although there is levels to just how "Native" you are. I have spoken to those who do traditional dances wearing traditional regalia who only have issues when non natives go full headdress. The strange thing is there is also certain tribes that hate on other tribes regarding how "native" they really are. In typical hater fashion those tribes are usually the ones that are not doing too good. Its a shame really.

This is the exact message I was trying to get across.

Not feeling the purple stitching, personally. I'd go for white, dark blue, or black.

I bought it off Grelled. I read Goros story and I liked it. I like that crossing of cultures. For me it’s great to see that kind of mixing of ideas. As long as, like the poster above says, it’s not an item that non members are supposed to wear I’m okay with it. I’d buy katana made by a tribal citizen the same way, if I liked how it was made and how it looked.

I’ll dissent and say I like the trucker, though valstar is supposed to be fantastic stuff.

i have the iron heart trucker. it’s pretty boss but i can’t say i’d recommend it over the valstar. that’s gonna be one heck of a jacket. also the iron heart is not quite as black as in the photos and is fading to more of a greenish dark grey hue. not necessarily a bad thing but something to consider.
