Thinking about this Native Son Trench from BB:

Probably 470 after taxes, worth it? I'm looking for an outerwear coat that's not a puffer for Seattle. I remember seeing this months back and thinking it was way too much ($1k), but now...

Just got some money and want to spend a little on clothes. As I get older, learn more from boards like this and other sites, and use my eyes to observe the people around me, I get the feeling that over time the simpler (if not less expensive) purchases will be the ones that last.

Getting a great work boots, great dark indigo jeans, and a decent jacket really helped. I've added some things since, and there isn't one glaring hole right now.

I could just hold on to the cash and wait for something better. Unlikely I'll be able to do that anyway.

I could by the bawdy/trendy belt that looks cool and has been in the back of my mind. Will I still love it five years from now or thirty-five? I don't know.

I could buy some Common Projects whites that will be a staple of my wardrobe for years. But I just bought some high-end sneakers.

I could buy some Naked and Famous black or gray jeans to add that crucial piece of Japanense denim to my collection.

I could do what you guys suggest.

I know that JCrew isn't that well liked here, but they're one of the few online stores I've found that consistently sells XS sizes. Anybody have an opinion or experience with this sportcoat?

I don't think JCREW is disliked here. It's the most liked mall brand in here.

The JLs are amazing, but it depends on what your budget and priorites are. Personally I'd allocate more money on a nicer suit and get "acceptable" shoes (like Santoni or something) rather than wear awesome shoes with a so-so suit. But if you have the means to do both, then I say go for it.

I don't think JCREW is disliked here. It's the most liked mall brand in here.

While it's possibly the most well-liked (~least disliked) mall brand, that doesn't entail being well-liked in the larger scope. I think there is a considerable segment of the forum that reflexively recoils upon seeing that name mentioned, and that this segment grows proportionally when members are grouped according to increasing lengths of time spent on the forum.
