Yes, the insert is removable; I believe you can rip it right out.

But, eventually if you ever want to wear really nice shoes, you'll pretty much have to say good bye to those orthotics.

Eegad. Hopefully the orthotics will fix my feet by the time I'm done growing. I'd really like to avoid having reconstructive foot surgery (which I've been told is the only alternative to orthotics if my feet don't get better on their own).

Thanks for the info on the Sperry insoles, though! [IMG]

    generic surplus wingtip?

    http://www.genericsurplus.com/index....tion/wing-tip/

seems a bit over priced at $70 since it looks like a glorified plimsol. Although, it seems hot weather friendly. I can see myself picking something like this over a leather wingtip in floridas summer.

Somehow I actually kind-of like that, even if it is a lowly urban outfitters diffusion line of a brand I really don't like that much in the first place.

Those Generic Surplus look nicer online than they do in the store. FWIW, they're suede, not canvas, so I dunno if they'd be that great for the Florida summer. Unlike Generic Man mainline, these run rather long and extremely narrow. Cool shoes, but I'd try them on before kopping.

I will find out if Orlando UO stocks them. How did they look with jeans?

Well, I wear New Cures and have decently large feet, so just about any pointy shoes look a bit clownish on me. The jeans stacked well enough over them, though.

true, i wear new standards; I'm thinking paired with new standards they will also look long and pointy. Eh, I'm gonna try them on at least.

Don't get those, coldsnap. I don't really think they're going to look that good on or off your feet.

Thanks. I'd get more wear out of a boat shoe or tennis shoe anyways, need to go out and buy one.

They would look odd with NS, or any jeans for that matter. I was thinking you would be wearing them with shorts or just as casual beaters. If you like the way they look and just want a cheap casual shoe, I would just suggest a pair of $10 plimsolls from H&M or vans. I don't care much for boat shoes, but even they would work better for what you want.

I am oddly drawn to this shoe. Thoughts?

I like this tight feeling. It feels good.

They are one of the top sellers on Rakuten.

How about this? I don't have many cotton sweaters, so that's a point for it. [IMG]
