I wish the pics were better, need more detail. Looks good from what I can see though; but I don't think it would fit your look

    Sure pics would be nice.

Box in there is a Medium Flat Rate... The only thing I had around that I thought would let you get a feel for the size of the thing. Can fit it in fine, if you stand it up, it's kind of a stretch to zip it, but I was able to. First picture is pretty accurate to color. In terms of picking up dirt and crap...if you're going hiking and camping, I'd probably look for something non-white/light colored. As stated...I've only used it a few times, and it's really only picked up a few dirt marks from being tossed on the ground and being stuck in the luggage compartments on buses.

How thick is the canvas compared to a Filson? Is it a heavy duty bag? I've been meaning to get one for a while, but would be disappointed if it's flimsy.

I haven't actually ever gotten to touch or see a Filson bag in-person, but I'd say the stuff is pretty heavy duty. Holds it's shape, is rather stiff and is a bitch to open and close when you first get it if it's full (still is, if I'm honest...) Doesn't have a problem standing vertically...in fact..was just inspired. It's still standing vertically with 5 books on top of it.. Not really a totally objective test..but... Not something I'd want my jeans made out of, can tell you that.

Thanks, sounds good. Comparing the Beckel and Filson websites, it looks like Beckel is 20oz canvas, Filson is 22oz (plus a wax treatment). So they're definitely close, and with the big disparity in price, Beckel seems like a good way to go.

Timberland Boot Company Wodehouse cap toe oxford. I'm looking for a similar black lace-up shoe and this is the closest I've been able to find in Toronto, although I haven't really looked that hard. Any suggestions for a similar shoe?
