P_F, if you're looking for an american-style, handsewn, lower vamp kind of thing, you can look at Alden's Cape Cod pennyloafer or one of the other brands (RL Polo) that have basically the same shoe. That's close to the weejun but nicer. The leather on current weejuns is not great.

RL Edric at Grapevinehill for $200--these may be available in other colors.

Those RLs have a beefroll; of course no beefrolls is a little cleaner looking.

If you want something more British (higher vamp, slightly sleeker), I bet Loake or Alfred Sargent makes something for $200 or less.

Don't know about web stores, but IIRC Winn Perry may have had the H410? Might be worth calling blackbird to see if they can get it for you.

the price is fine i guess but it's not a good choice with jeans. it's too "dressy" and quite old man. get unlucky or zissou to make you a belt.

    Where's Unlucky's thread? I can't seem to find it.

If you only own one pair that is true. However I own 7-8 pairs and rotate 2-3 throughout the week depending on the season. They have all kept up pretty well.

well considering he said all the time shoe i'm assuming he plans on wearing it every day also highly doubting he has even one decent pair of dress shoes yet from his previous posts if you rotate well then your shoes should easily last 20+ years

I'm going to buy some Clarks Desert Boots from Endless.com, Bing cash back is 40% today. So that turns $95 to $57.

I am stuck between Flint Suede, Taupe Suede, and Sand Suede (only ones left for my size)

I think Taupe Suede is the most versatile color, and can be worn to class or to the club. Thoughts?

I have AEPA's for job interview stuff. I've been wearing a couple pair of thrifted oxfords/clarks db's/converse/a-life/mil surp jump boots for a while and want an upgrade. RWGT's are an obvious choice, but they feel like they're going to cycle out soon. I might just save for some CP's.

I find it strange that cp's are the be-all, end-all sneaker on styleforum. I'm not saying I don't think they look good, it's just weird. GN, go look at as many Paul Smith shoes as you can.

3 things. First, if you're going to wear a leather shoe all the time, spend a fuckload on it and get something amazing because it will take the place of 6 pairs. Second, get shell c, it'll break in better. 3rd, I am of the opinion that boots are more versatile than shoes overall.

Conclusion? Go to francos and buy some rider shell boots. Wear them everywhere with no regrets.
